Clean Eating, Day 1

A couple days ago, a friend and I were having a conversation about the awesome success she and her husband have made since changing their eating habits. I'm so proud of their work to get where they are (which she says hasn't been all that hard, actually) She challenged me to cut out all processed foods and sugars for a month (these means no more fast food burgers and frieds, cookies, candy, soda and much more....). While I've been eating somewhat healthily over the last few months, I definitely eat more processed food than I should AND I'm pretty sure I've had five pieces of cake in the last week (not kidding). So, here we go! I'm always more motivated with structure and deadlines. This sounds like a great plan for me, too, because I can put away half a dozen decent sized cookies like it's my job. If those things are taken out of the equation, it saves me a lot of trouble at the scale.

I asked my friend to give us a little write-up on her success and the plan she follows - she'll be getting that to us shortly; in the mean time, I'd love for you to join us for the eat clean challenge! I have several friends that are coming along for the challenge and it's never too late to join in (don't forget to weigh yourself and get some "before" photos!).

Here's what I'm using as guidelines so far:

There are also some great ideas (for grocery shopping and eating) on YouTube.

I can't wait to see what the next 30 days bring as far as weight loss and gaining energy. Have clean eating tips? Want to join along? Comment below!
